The Weird People project aims to redefine the perception of physical difference in humans, highlighting that oddity is an intrinsically human and beautiful trait. Through this work, I also seek to challenge social norms and the living frameworks imposed by contemporary society, as well as conventions on how to behave in public.
My primary inspiration for this project comes from the worlds of Drag and Club Kid. I am captivated by the metamorphosis involved and the use of saturated colors that are recurrent in my artistic work. Additionally, I focus on expressing human emotions through representations that are often exaggerated and dramatic.
For this project, I collaborated with makeup artists and models who agreed to pose for me. Together, we aimed to depict scenes from everyday life while exploring the notion of difference in these seemingly ordinary situations. The goal was to highlight the diversity and uniqueness of each individual while celebrating the beauty of non-conformity.
